First Baptist Church has become my extended family. I can not imagine going through life without my God and my church family who stands beside me, my husband, and my four children through all parts of our lives. My children range from toddler to high school, and FBC offers them each a way to learn and serve. My oldest son is able to serve through the light board at the church, my middle children are able to sing during church individually, together, and in a children's choir, and my youngest is able to visit with other members and attenders as if they are all her grandparents, aunts and uncles, spreading her joy all over! My husband and I serve in the Christian School, choir, nursery, men's ministries, and a myriad of other places throughout the years. If you are looking for a church where you can become a family member and serve the body of Christ, as well as learn Biblical truth during every single service that will help you and challenge you to grow in your daily Christian life, look no further! Make sure you meet Pastor Odle in the foyer after any service and attend an Adult Bible Fellowship on Sunday morning before the first service (9am). You will be able to connect with people a great deal faster if you become part of one of those smaller groups!

We love this church (our church) because we have five children ranging from 1 yr. old to 10 yrs. old and there is a program for each one of them. Our 1 year old even has dedicated Sunday School teachers already instilling Biblical values into her little heart and mind. Every one of our kids love their teachers for Sunday School and childrens' church for the younger ones. The older ones get to go to kids' choir on Sunday nights and learn songs and skits to perform during the service. We get to be 'fed' by the Word in our classes and in the service with a peace of mind that our children are also learning and growing.

If you can, come to Sunday School (starts at 9:45) so you can really meet people and get plugged in.

When we moved to the area in 1998, we visited over a dozen churches in the area. The first time we visited to First Baptist Church of Elyria, we knew that the search was over and we had found our church! The Bible is preached without compromise, and there are so many opportunities to minister. It is a fantastic place to worship and grow closer to God!

The best word I know to describe First Baptist is balanced! I appreciate their willingness to meet the demands of modern culture while still remaining true to the biblical guidelines set in Scripture. From the music to the people to the preaching, First Baptist strives to honor God in everything that they do. They are a thriving church where God is active and working! My family has attended First Baptist Church for 16 years. We are thankful to attend a church where the Word of God is preached without compromise. The church has played a vital role in helping us to raise our children with strong Biblical understanding that will equip them for their adult lives. Additionally, we are thankful for the fellowship with other believers and the relationships we have built over the years! With outstanding Services, Adult Bible Fellowship, and Children's Programs, we could not ask for a better church!

I am a member of this church because there is no place like it out there. The people you meet are passionate and truly do care about you as a human being. The pastoral staff is like no other. We have a wide variety of experience just with our pastoral staff. The preaching is expository in nature and if you do not walk away changed every Sunday there is something wrong. The church also has a great ministry to the youth. That is part of why I even started going to this church. The youth in our church are involved in music and many other things in our service. There is an opportunity for anyone to grow so give this church a try. You will not regret it.

I have been in this church for a little over 3 years. I thank God for putting me in this church, and I love that for a big church it is so personal! I've made many friends and many godly mentors! They helped me get very active as soon as I could! I could not wish for a better church!
